I have played many games and at least six plus have the Ace of Hearts get "stuck" and you cannot move it to the top line with the other Aces

Reply from Rick: I haven't seen that bug. I will keep an eye out for it.

Have you played very long when you see this happens?

    Thanks for letting me know,
    Rick

I would like to see the clock not start until the first card is played. I usually look the layout over before I start doing anything - as seconds tick away. You have a great game and do a great job! Thanks.

So I guess you are never going to put this game back the way it was. Maybe you just don't know how. Here is a thought ....maybe you could ask someone to help you figure it our. I am still waiting for someone to fix this game. Getting tired of waiting. Diane

Reply from Rick: I'm still not sure what you are talking about. I've provided a link to the version with the auto complete removed. If that's not the issue you are referring to, please let me know.

If you hit them above the sight screen it freezes the game.

Reply from Rick: I haven't seen that issue. I just tried it, and it didn't freeze. Would you mind giving me more details? Are you able to get it to freeze at will or is it only at certain times or levels or something like that?

    Thanks for your help, :-)

I am still waiting for someone to correct the Solitaire game I have been playing for some time. At first it was fun, but now with the new "Improvements" with cards just flying up to the top of the page (cards that I could use, cards that I need) It is not fun anymore and besides that it is very aggravating especially when you realize the card that would allow you to win the game is now stuck up at the top of the page. There is also the problem of a #2 card getting in the upper section before the Ace can get in there and then you can not adjust it. Please try to rectify these problems. Rick, are you still there? Diane

Reply from Rick: Diane, you are still on the wrong page.

Go to this page -> CLICK HERE!

I made this change for you a long time ago, so I'm not sure why you're still posting about it.

Am I missing something? You keep posting complaints about the auto complete feature, and I keep posting the link to the version without it. You're either not reading the replies I'm posting, or I'm completely misunderstanding your problem.

Hope that helps... if you are having a problem with that version of the game, please post your comments on that page so I know that is the version you are referring to. If not, please go to the version of the game without auto complete because I believe that is what you are asking for.

    Hope that helps,
    Rick

Good evening Rick, Well I see you have not been able to correct the Solitaire game that I play. I still have the cards flying up and as you may know you can't even bring them back down to continue play. The button you mentioned does not help either. Hope you are still working on it. The way it is now, the game is not fun and is harder to win. I played last night about 6-8 games and could not win even once. Hopeless in N.Carolina, Diane

Reply from Rick: Diane, have you gone to this link? Click Here!

The auto complete has been removed from the game on that page.

Just to be clear, the auto complete has not been removed from the main page of this web site. I made a new page just for you. I put a link to it with your name.

If that is not what you are referring to, I'm afraid I don't understand what the problem is.

    I hope that helps,
    Rick

have right click away from cards play all available cards to ace decks

  • - 2013-02-19 06:41:59

I think that when you win the solitaire game in the window mode, the screen should not revert back to the small screen. I like to play multiple games.

Reply from Rick: I know it's a bit of a pain to hit the full screen button again with each game. The only reason I did that is because I got some complaints from people who could figure out how to get out of the game when it was over. These people got really mad at me... they thought I was taking over their computer or something. Anyway, I'm just trying to keep everyone happy and I'm sorry you have to hit the full screen button again.

What I should probably do is pop it back into full screen mode when you hit the 'New Game' button... just a thought.

Thanks for letting me know, :-)

i like the old game better

Reply from Rick: That's why I try and keep around all my old versions.

Here is the old version of Solitaire

Also if you look at the menu bar at the top of the site, there is a drop down menu titled 'Old Versions' that has several of the old versions of my games in it if there are any other older versions you prefer.

    Hope that helps,

    Rick

Just wanted to send you a note of support. I, too, didn't like the autocomplete when the change was first made, so I went off in a huff looking for a new solitaire website. I came back to yours. I adjusted to the new strategy needed for autocomplete. It made me more observant, in a way, watching for ways to "deconstruct" (I try to avoid using the "undo" option). I know you've gotten a lot of negative feedback; I just want to say thank you for this wonderful site, which has helped me relax after stressful days at work. I can't imagine the work that goes into creating a site such as this, and the people who do nothing but complain probably can't as well.

    Reply from Rick: Hi Jeannie,

I appreciate the kind words :-)

I do think that it's good to hear from people, particularly when they are trying to tell me things they think can improve the site. It's better to hear about issues that are upsetting people then to just have someone leave without telling me anything. Sometimes I can get frustrated when I'm hearing the same thing over and over again... but to be honest even that is helpful because it helps me to understand how to prioritize my bug fixes.

Anyway, I'm glad you like the site, and for anyone who wants to play without Auto-Complete...

Here is my Auto Complete Free version :-)

  • Rick - 2013-02-11 13:12:48

Hello ME, I keep reading suggestions asking ME to turn off the Auto Complete feature in Solitaire. When am I going to do something about it?

Reply from Rick: I just put together a page where I've turned off the Auto Complete feature and re-compiled. This code is a branch, so it's not going to get updated when I do other updates to the game. It's a temporary fix to try and satisfy users who really really want me to turn off that feature right now.

Here's a link to the version without Auto Complete

    I hope this helps,
    Rick

Good Morning,Rick Well it is now 4:30 A.M. and I am not able to get back to sleep. So I am trying to play Solitaire and getting very agitated about the way the cards still keep flying away instead letting me send them to the top of the page. Are you still working on fixing that? Hope you are. Diane

Reply from Rick: Diane, I appreciate your enthusiasm. I'm sorry to keep you waiting, but the earliest you are going to see a new version of the game will be in a matter or weeks not days. And that is probably an overly optimistic estimate so it may be longer than that. Sorry for the wait, but I have a to-do list that is several hundred items long and that one is about half way down it.

While you are waiting, I suggest you play some of the older versions of my games that do not have that feature.

There is a drop down menu at the top of the web site that says 'Old Versions'. If you hover your mouse over that it will give you a list of other older versions of the games that do not have auto complete installed.

    Thanks for playing,
    Rick

  • People that complain - 2013-02-07 17:09:54

If people are that unhappy tell them to make their own game.

Reply from Rick: I'm not exactly sure what you mean by that. I appreciate the feedback, especially if it is constructive.

I hope you're enjoying the games I have, but I am a little confused by this post.

    Thanks for the feedback,
    Rick :-)

  • LF - 2013-02-04 05:35:20

I prefer the older version. I don't like the automatic card placement and using the undo works but as soon as you hit that same card again it automatically places cards. When it places several cards, it does not always undo all of them even when you undo each one. It would be much easier without that placement. I also like the screen color and size of the cards of the older version. I do not see the older version option on the screen any longer. I am clicking on the "older version" in one of your replies.

Reply from Rick: There is a menu at the top of the web page that is called 'Old Versions'. Also, I moved the a link directly below the game.

    Hope that helps,
    Rick

Forget my last email to you.. I just found the undue button Thanks, Diane

Reply from Rick: No problem. :-)

  • Diane Hoefler - 2013-01-30 22:49:45

Dear Rick, I just saw your reply but I can't seem to find the undue button. Can you help? Diane

Reply from Rick: It appears next to the 'New Game' button on the bottom left of the game screen, but only after you have made a move you can Undo. So first make a move, then go look on the bottom left and it should be there. It is a reddish color button.

    Hope that helps,
    Rick

O.K. This is the third time I have tried to get this game changed. I would like to go back to where it was before someone thought it would be nice to set the cards flying. I would like very much to be allowed to move my cards the way I would like them to be moved. Also, lots of the time low numbered cards fly when I didn't want them to be sent up to the top of the page. Then I try to get the card back down where it should go ,the card will not stay where I need it. Please take this under consideration. Diane (disappointed in North Carolina

Reply from Rick: Right now the best way to get the cards back to where you want them is to hit the 'Undo' button. The cards that were moved automatically will get moved back to where they were and the auto move won't kick in until you move another card. I will add something to let you turn off the auto complete as soon as I get a chance to work on that particular game.

I have a lot of games and I'm working on them all the time, but it frequently takes quite a while for me to get to any specific request. Hang in there, I'll get to it when I can.

    Thanks for your patience,
    Rick

  • - 2013-01-27 10:13:37

Dear Rick: Love the game. Disabling auto complete would lead me to win more games. Thank you, Lyn

Reply from Rick: If the auto complete makes a move you don't like, right now the best thing to do is hit the 'Undo' button. I will need to add something that allows you to disable the auto complete feature, as soon as I get a chance.

    Thanks for the suggestion, :-)
    Rick

wheres my old game. It had larger cards that I could see. Im a senior citizen that misses my old game.

  • three of spades left in d - 2013-01-22 10:10:40

I was playing solitary, the spades auto piled on top of the aces, near the end of the game I noticed the 3 of spades was still in the deck but the ace pile was at the Jack. I undid the cards to the proper space, and could not move the 3 over to the ace pile. On the next move the auto restacked the ace piles again without the 3. The game finished as a Winner, the 3 was still in the deck pile face up. Just thought I would let you know. I could not find a number for the game.

Reply from Rick: That's an odd bug. I haven't seen it yet myself, but I'll definitely look into it.

    Thanks for letting me know,
    Rick :-)

  • Jo - 2013-01-20 10:40:49

How do you enable auto complete?

Reply from Rick: You don't need to enable it. The cards just move automatically to the foundations in the games where I have it. I would like to add a way to turn it off before I add the feature to more games.

    Hope that answers your question,
    Rick

  • Little stuff - 2013-01-19 20:29:00

Having problems with cards not lining up. Sometimes the Ace of clubs will not stay on bottom of pile. It will move to the top of the shuffle pile and I cannot get it to go into place. Seems like alot of little bugs are creeping into the game recently. Also, the self moving aces and their sequencial cards are somewhat distracting and annoying.Kinda like to make my own moves with the aces. Thanks for listening. Pat

Reply from Rick: The auto complete feature seems to have added some little bugs like that. I've been working to fix them.

    Thanks for letting me know,

You need to have a pause button please

Reply from Rick: I've considered adding a pause button, but I don't have a lot of space for more buttons. The pause button seems kind of low priority to me because the only thing it would do is pause the timer. I guess it could make a difference if you are really into going for your best time.

If anyone else has an opinion on this I would like to hear about it.

    Thanks for the suggestion,
    Rick
